Cubs is the second section in the Scouting adventure. Aged 8 – 10½ years old, boys and girls enjoy a varied and active termly programme of activities. Cubs work towards a similar programme of Activity and Challenge Badges to Beaver Scouts, focusing on outdoor experiences and learning new skills. But there is greater emphasis on personal responsibility and a higher level of adventure.
Archery; hiking; rafting; rifle shooting; swimming; sailing; backwoods cooking and firelighting; knots and pioneering; Bushcraft skills; camps and much more feature in the Cub Scout programme.
Cubs also have the opportunity to meet and compete with other Cubs in the District at archery, hike, cooking, swimming and other competitions throughout the year.
There’s lots of adventure on offer! Our Cub Pack meets on a Thursday evening, 6.45pm – 8pm, at Redwood Centre, Perrymount Road, Haywards Heath, RH16 3DN.
Within the Pack, Cubs are divided into smaller groups called ‘Sixes’.
